Season of Summer

This summer was the season of weddings for me. I attended four wedding all within six weeks of each other. It made for a very busy start to my summer but a very happy one too. Three of the weddings were of friends from high school and because of that I got to see a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in quite long time. Being able to reconnect, share stories and laugh was all part of the wedding experience for me. I do have to say that one of my favorite parts about the wedding is the dance if there is one. Who will be next?!

Highlight of Summer

My moms side of the family takes a annual camping trip to the lake every summer. We go to lake Pomme De Terre in Missouri. We always go the same week every year and camp in the same spot. We look like a traveling freak show according to my mom! It's the one time of the year that all 15 grandchildren (plus spouses) and 6 great grandchildren are together and it is so much fun. We camp in tents, cook over the fire, boat and swim for an entire week. To make things more fun this year my cousins brought an old bicycle!

Experience of the Summer

If your not from Kansas then you probably think it is a rather boring place to visit. One fun attraction in Kansas is the Underground Salt Museum in Hutchinson, KS. My family went there this summer and I would recommend it to everyone. The museum itself is about 600 feet below the surface and a nice 70 degrees al year round. Since it is still a working mine we each got to bring home a chunk of salt. This salt mine was also on an episode of Dirty Jobs!

Song of Summer

If I had to choose a theme song for my summer I would have to choose Call Me Maybe. This song is one of my friends favorite songs and he is always tweeting about it. When I first listened to the song I was not a huge fan at first but it did have a very catchy tune! My youngest sister is 16 and in love with this song, so when I was with her I didn't have much of a choice to not listen. From then on the song was stuck in my head. I was then introduced to Harvard Baseball teams spin on this music video and I have never laughed so hard! Then the Olympic swimmers take on it, needless to say I am hooked.
